Do skylights always leak eventually?
No. When a skylight is flashed correctly and installed properly, it should not leak. Most of the leaks we see come from failed flashing or a poor original installation, and both can be fixed.
My skylight looks foggy. What does that mean?
Fog between the panes usually means the seal has failed. The skylight will need to be replaced. We replace old and fogged skylights, and we make sure the new one is flashed right.
Do you work on skylights in metal or tile roofs?
Yes. We install and repair skylights on shingle, metal, and tile roofs. Each roof type needs the right flashing approach, and we do the flashing work around the skylight curb as part of the job.
